Matthew James Wilkinson

Matthew was born and raised in the North West of England. He holds a BA (Hons) in Film Studies from Sheffield Hallam University.

Since graduating in 2000, he has worked for Avalon Television and Management Group, AP Watt Literary, Film & Television Agency and as a freelance writer, editor and film reviewer for Channel 4/film and Little White Lies magazine. He has also worked as a professional script editor for the BFI and EON Productions, amongst others.

In March 2011, he left his position as script Development Executive at Working Title Films to return to producing fulltime. There he worked on the script development of a number of high-profile feature films, including NANNY MCPHEE AND THE BIG BANG and the Studio Canal released TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY.

Previous work includes, black comedy short, WORM, starring Tom Basden, which aired on Channel 4 and award-winning short film, INSEPARABLE, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, which premiered at the London Film Festival.

As a producer, writer and script development consultant with 15 years film industry experience, Matthew is also a member of BAFTA and was named as one of ‘Creative England’s 50’, as a creative producer to watch.
