Producer Matthew James Wilkinson launched Stigma Films in 2012, having previously worked as a Development Executive at Working Title Films.

The company has successfully produced features with Netflix, Sky, Shudder, Entertainment, IFC and more, and among others has developed projects with Curzon, BFI, Creative England, Altitude.

Stigma has produced seventeen features to date, including Netflix Original, CHOOSE OR DIE, starring Asa Butterfield released in early 2022. The film ranked No.1 in the UK, US and Canada on its opening weekend; Sky Original, LAST TRAIN TO CHRISTMAS, starring Michael Sheen and Nathalie Emmanuel which aired Christmas 2021, to a festive audience of over 1 million viewers and YESTERDAY, for Working Title Films/Universal, written by Richard Curtis and directed by Danny Boyle, which made over $160m at the Worldwide box office.

Other titles include, heist musical THE SCORE, starring Johnny Flynn, Will Poulter and Naomi Ackie; Simon Bird’s feature debut, DAYS OF THE BAGNOLD SUMMER, starring Monica Dolan, Earl Cave & Rob Brydon (BIFA nominated for Best Debut Screenplay) and Gerard Johnson’s black comedy/thriller, MUSCLE, which had its World Premiere at the London Film Festival, was nominated for a BIFA Discovery Award.

Romola Garai’s feature debut, AMULET, starring Carla Juri, Alec Secareanu and Imelda Staunton, exec produced by Damian Jones, premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2020, and was Film Critic Mark Kermode’s ‘Pick of the Week’ upon its UK release.

Stigma’s next feature to be released will be SEIZE THEM! an Entertainment Film Distributors-funded medieval comedy, starring Aimee Lou Wood, Nicola Coughlan, Lolly Adefope and Nick Frost, co-produced with Damian Jones of DJ Films.
